A Longford Councillor has welcomed the erection of speed safety signs in a number of housing estates in Longford.
In June, residents in several estates were forced to draw hand written signs urging drivers to slow down and to be aware of children playing in green areas.
The local council claimed in June, following a motion from Councillor Gerry Warnock, that a safety audit of every housing estate in the town would not be possible due to limited resources.
However, it did promise extra signage would be installed, which has now taken place at estates including MacEoin Park and Springlawn in July.
