Longford County Council's budget for 2025 is one of its most ambitious to date.
That's according to its chief executive Paddy Mahon, who says it's important to have match funding in place for projects.
Speaking to Shannonside News, he said this year's budget is in the region of 75 million euro:

The Longford chief executive also defended the decision to increase commercial rates by five per cent.
He said it was a vital source of income for the local authority and a rates support scheme was in place:
