Longford County Council has committed to carrying out emergency repair works on a local authority property occupied by Syrian refugees following a meeting this afternoon.
Two families in Granard have been highlighting serious issues over a lack of heating and ventilation within the two apartments they've been allocated by the Council.

The situation had reported resulted in a heavily pregnant resident sleeping in a car with the heating on outside of the property with her children to keep warm.
Longford County Council have now agreed to start the emergency works tomorrow, with the situation to be reviewed in one month.
