Longford's Environmental Awareness Officer is paying tribute to the major community buy-in for this year's Spring Clean campaign.
The "Green Keep It Clean" campaign has been run by the council alongside the national initiative, and Gary Brady says people all over the county have been hugely supportive.
The campaign encourages individuals and families to clean up their local roadsides within a 5 km radius of their home, with the council providing the necessary equipment, and arranging for the gathered litter to be picked up and taken away.
