The head of Longford County Council is hopeful that further significant funding will be allocated to the county later this year.
Over ten million euro was allocated to the 'Camlin Quarter' plan earlier this week by government to help undertake a major regeneration of the lower half of the county town's main street.
It's understood the local authority is also seeking funding to develop a tourism initiative near the Connolly barracks site.
