Longford County Council have been praised for their quick action in tackling safety issues at Lanesboro Harbour. The issue was highlighted last week by Local Councillor and County Cathaoirleach Mark Casey, following flood surges in recent weeks. According to the Independent Councillor, the harbour recently fell into disrepair when the water rose and caused moored boats to damage the footpaths.
Councillor Casey says the Council acted swiftly when notified and phase one repair works have already been completed. Speaking to Shannonside FM News, the County Cathaoirleach says the repair works will feed into future plans for the amenity:
