Longford County Council has been shortlisted in six categories for the annual Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards.
The projects are "Putting a heart back into Edgeworthstown" in the Supporting Sustainable Communities category, and a section of the Royal Canal Greenway in the Supporting Tourism section.
The council is also nominated in the Sustainable Environment category for their work on remote working technology, and on accessibility in the Albert Reynolds Peace Park.
The final nomination for Longford is in the Commemorations and Centenaries section where they have bene put forward for the work on the commemoration of the 1st World War.
Council Cathaoirleach Paul Ross has paid tribute to all of the council staff involved in the different projects.
