The new tenant handbook will be updated later this year

People living in Council owned homes in Longford will only be able to have one pet dog in the property as part of new tenancy rules being developed by the local authority.

The Council is currently updating the rules and regulations that tenants of council homes are expected to abide by - as well as the obligations on the Council to the householder.

Councillor John Browne welcomed a move to limit dog ownership to just one animal per household at the May meeting of the local authority, while Councillors also raised concerns over the size of satellite dishes on some homes, which were described as unsightly.
