Councillor Gerry Warnock made the call at the September meeting of Longford County Council for the new division to be featured on a municipal district level.

The developments were designed to enhance the pedestrian experience with new path treatments, street furniture and lighting.

Longford County Planners will decide on the issue at the end of October.
