Longford County Council spent just over €3.5 million on capital expenditure in the first quarter of the year.
These figures cover the first three months of the year - and don't reflect the slowdown in spending that would have impacted local authorities due to the Covid-19 pandemic
The costs include construction and roadworks with over one-point-six million euro (€1.625m) paid out in insurance in January alone.
In Longford, roadworks and overall construction dominated its spending in the first quarter of the year with the largest single payment worth over one-million-euro alone in January on insurance costs.
Overall in January, 1.6 million euro was spent on public insurance policies by the local authority.
February's total expenditure was €380,685 with the largest single payment accounted for by Electric Skyline and in March, Kerry County Council received a payment of over €27,00 for procurement.
March's total was €1.085m, including a payment to Frank McKenna for construction work totalling over €422,000.
The overall figure of €3.509m is slightly higher than for the same three months in 2019- when Longford County Council, spent a total of 3.098 million.
