A Longford based equine rescue is highlighting high levels of donkey neglect across the country.
Hungry Horse Outside is making the call following their rescue of three donkeys from land in Drumkeeran in Leitrim last week.
According to the rescue, the animals were in a very serious condition and are still undergoing treatment.
The animals plight has led to the organisation of a specialised training seminar at the Longford rescue.
Donkey Sanctuary experts have been working with local vets to highlight the specialised needs of donkeys when it comes to healthcare.
