Reacting to news of Marc MacSharry's resignation from the parliamentary party yesterday, The Longford/Westmeath TD say's he's sorry to see him leave but he hopes he'll come back to the party eventually.

He says he's admitted his error in taking that approach on a couple of occasions since then.
He says he believes the Taosieach has been doing a very good job.
Deputy MacSharry's constituency colleague Marian Harkin says she was predicting his departure in recent days.
The Independent TD says that after reading an article by the FF TD in the local newspaper earlier this week she knew there was no going back for him.
