A film shot in Longford and telling of life in rural Ireland begins its premiere in the US today.
The short film called "Lakelands" is the debut feature of Granard natives Robert Higgins and Patrick McGivney.
It's being screened for the next week at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
While the film focuses on the GAA culture and masculine friendship it's directors say they always hoped it would 'travel' and are delighted to see it being screened in the US.
There are also plans to show it in cinemas here.
