County Longford's new Garda Superintendent is confident that no emergency calls about domestic violence were not passed onto officers in the region.
The Justice Minister says she still has confidence in the Garda Commissioner following the cancellation of 999 calls. Over 600 emergency calls relating to domestic violence in 2019 and 2020 didn't get an appropriate policing response.
Superintendent Seamus Boyle is now in charge of the Longford and Granard Garda Districts and he says a recent review showed that 90% of domestic violence calls received by Gardai in the north Longford area received a callback.
