Gardaí in Longford have been taking part in Operation Twin Tracks this week in order to combat antisocial behaviour on trains.
The initiative was created between Gardaí and Irish Rail to tackle increased levels of problem behaviours on the rail network.
A number of locally based Gardaí patrolled services on the Sligo/Dublin Connolly line this week, engaging with passengers.
According to complaints received by Irish Rail in previous years, anti social behaviour and intimidation have been one of the most common complaints from service users.
