A Longford GP is highlighting positive health steps for people spending long periods behind a computer screen.
Dr. Paul Trueick from Longford Medical Park says hours spent on a device working from home, on virtual school lessons or gaming can have negative health effects if not managed properly.
Due to current health restrictions requiring many people to work from home and the closures of schools, computer and handheld device use per household has drastically increased.
The GP says an excess of screen time can lead to bad posture, back pain, eye strain and poor cardiovascular health.
According to Dr Trueick, there are several simple steps available to help people health-proof their time behind a screen.
