Concerns are being raised over the rollout of the second jab for people who received one of the surplus vaccines delivered to a Longford GP last week.
1,600 people from across Longford and the wider region were able to take advantage of the massive over delivery and were administered their first dose of the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine.
As the jabs were given outside of the national framework for vaccine rollout, many have been raising concerns over the provision of adequate supplies to meet their appointments for the second jab next month.
Individual GPs have already confirmed with HSE officials, that a second doses of Pfizer will made available for anyone who received one of the surplus vaccines.
Speaking to 'Let's Talk' today, Dr Syed Ali, who was sent the extra vaccines, says he is offering to host the second wave of vaccinations for his fellow GPs at his Dublin Road surgery.
According to Dr Ali, as the records for the majority of the weekend's vaccinations are on his computer system, it makes sense for local doctors to work through his health centre:
