The public must fight their Covid fatigue if virus numbers are to stabilize before Christmas.
That's according to Longford GP Padraic McGarry who says the last 18 months of the pandemic have seen the population exhausted by health measures including lock downs, business closures and health service delays.
The former president of the Irish Medical Organisation says it's resulted in a laxity in personal health measures such as hand washing and social distancing.
Hospitalisations numbers of those with Covid 19 are continuing to grow with modelling indicating the number of people in ICU could reach 150 to 200.
Dr McGarry says people need to remember that the virus doesn't relax.
