Longford Gymnastics hope Rhys McClenaghan will inspire next generation

The 25 year old from Co. Down won his first Olympic Gold Medal on the Pommel Horse.

A Gymnastics coach in Longford is hoping that Rhys McClenaghan winning gold at the Paris Olympics will inspire the next generation. The 25 year old from Co. Down won his first Olympic Gold Medal after a near perfect routine on the Pommel Horse.

Longford Gymnastics opened it's doors in 2020 and now has just over 500 members signed up to the club. Barbara Smyth from Longford Gymnastics says there has been an increase in phone calls to sign up on the back of the success at the Olympics:
