County Longford has recorded the highest rent increase in the country in the last year.
The latest report from DAFT.ie shows that the cost of leasing a property in the county has risen by 24.1% compared to the same period in 2021.
Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon have all recorded over a 20% rent rise in the past year, all three Shannonside counties saw the largest increases nationwide.
The report shows the average price of renting a house in Longford now stands at €1,059.
Leitrim properties have recorded a rise of 22.3% with the average cost of renting now €907.
The rental increase for Leitrim is the second highest in the country with Roscommon taking third spot.
Meanwhile in Roscommon the cost of renting has risen by 20.1% year on year at a monthly rate of €1,051.
Nationally rent rose by 14.1%, that's the highest year-on-year increase in market rents since the launch of the Daft Report in 2005.
