The number of planning permissions granted in the Shannonside region last year were among the lowest nationwide.
Figures from the Central Statistics Office show that Longford had the lowest number of planning permissions granted for houses in 2022 nationally.
The newly released figures from the CSO show the 3 counties across the Shannonside region had the lowest number of permissions granted nationwide last year.
Longford had the lowest amount granted in the country at 76.
This is followed by Leitrim at 109, the second lowest in the country, and Roscommon at 137, the third lowest figure nationally.
In terms of apartments, Longford had the most permissions granted at 7, followed by Roscommon with 4, and Leitrim with 3.
These figures also represent the 3 lowest figures nationally.
Dublin accounted for 47% of all dwelling units granted planning permission last year.
A total of 34,177 dwellings were granted permission last year by local authorities.
