Longford County Council staff were paid over 120,000 euro for working at the count for the local elections last month.
This was an average of over 2,200 per staff member.
The count for the local elections in Longford took place in St Mary's Community Centre in Edgeworthstown from Saturday, June 8, until Monday, June 10.
The sorting of votes, between local and European, took place in TUS Athlone on the Saturday.
New figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, show 54 Longford council staff were involved in the count.
They were paid a total of 120,213 euro.
The cost of catering for the staff who were working in St Mary's Community Centre was 13,597 euro.
Almost 2,300 euro was spent on hiring two security men.
A final invoice has not yet been received for hiring TUS Athlone and St Mary's Community Centre, but a quote of 500 euro per day was received.
