A Longford man has expressed his shock and delight after 34 piglets were born to his two sows last week.
Moyne-based Ronan Bleakley broke records after 34 young bonhams were delivered with all the young pigs surviving in the space of 24 hours last Thursday.
The agricultural science student, who is studying in Galway, bought the sows during lockdown and the first time mother gave birth to 20 youngsters last week.
It was followed a few hours later by his second sow giving birth to another 14 piglets.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show, Ronan said he was shocked to now be minding so many bonhams.
