A Longford man is due to be sentenced today for a stabbing at a shopping centre in the town in December 2018.
Denis Hannifin, of Curry, Athlone Road Longford, was found guilty by a jury of assaulting a man and possession of a knife following a trial at Longford Circuit Court earlier this year.
The trial heard that the injured party, Denis McGinley, sustained serious injuries in the incident which occurred just inside the door of the shopping centre.

The 41-year-old was remanded in custody following the guilty verdict and is due to be sentenced today by Judge Francis Comerford.
