Operations at Longford's Mass Vaccination Centre have started off smoothly this morning according to HSE staff on site.
The staff and facilities at the newly opened facility in Newtownforbes are being praised by the first members of the public to receive their vaccines.
Operations began at the GAA club this morning, with the first vaccinations taking place at 9.45.
Vaccine numbers are being restricted today and tomorrow to allow the centre to bed in and identify any issues in it's operations, with the service ramping up from Monday.
Longford man Eugene Quaine was the first person at the centre to receive the jab this morning.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound News in the minutes after he urged people to follow suit and sign up for the vaccine.
