A Longford night nurse is encouraging people to contact the Irish Cancer Society who are looking for more people to help support people to die in their homes.
The Cancer Society has reported an increased demand around the country for the service, due to the hospital restrictions on visitors generally.
The demand for the service which provides end-of-life care to patients in their own home, jumped by over a fifth in some areas, with as increase of as much as 60% in Cavan and even higher in Kildare at 76%.
Longford woman Margaret Brady says it is a huge privilege to be working with the service for the last number of years and it's very rewarding to be able to help people at such a sensitive time.
