The position of Night-Time Economy Advisor in Longford will be filled shortly according to the Arts Minister.
The government announced plans last October to create the specialised, full-time positions in nine towns and cities around Ireland, to boost night-life.
The role involves engaging with the community, businesses, venues and artists to implement plans to revitalise night-life and bring about a vibrant culture.
Recruitment is now live in Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny and Drogheda and it's expected positions will then be filled in Longford, Galway, Buncrana and Sligo.
Arts Minister Catherine Martin says the new positions will be of huge benefit.
'The new advisors will help drive and support a more sustainable night time economy in their specific areas. They will work with businesses, communities, venues residents and artists to create a more vibrant nightlife for all and bring increased vitality to our city and town centres in a safe and sustainable way.''
