Longford parish undertakes major fundraising effort

A major community fundraising effort is being undertaken by a Longford parish in an effort to maintain local churches and community centres.

The drive is being organised by a committee in the parish of Ardagh and Moydow which currently has a debt of €200,000.

Tickets will be sold for prizes including an electric car, and the proceeds will be divided among the churches, community centres and some GAA facilities. Local parish priest Fr Vinny Connaughton says he hopes everyone in the area can benefit from this community effort.
