Longford pharmacist Padraig Loughrey is welcoming the agreement which will allow them to begin to administer vaccines from early next month.
The Longford man says they've had 13 years' experience of administering the flu vaccine and that will stand to them in this exercise.
He says he believes the AstraZeneca vaccine will be a "game changer " which will allow far greater numbers of people to be protected.
