A Longford postmaster is welcoming a major government investment in the Post Office network.
A three-year 30 million euro package of funding for the network has been announced by Minister Eamon Ryan today.
It will go towards Community Banking, e-commerce and maintaining Government services in outlets, like social welfare or dog licenses.
An Post has welcomed the move saying the pandemic has 'accelerated' challenges facing the network in recent years.
Senator Micheal Carrigy is a postmaster in Ballinalee in north Longford.
He says it's a huge moment for the post office network's future:
