Longford Pride has condemned a protest that saw Longford Library forced to close yesterday. Two individuals entered the premises adjacent to Longford Shopping Centre after 11 o'clock yesterday morning and confronted staff. They claim the inclusion of certain LGBTQ+ material in the library is inappropriate for children. Following the refusal of multiple requests from staff to cease filming inside the library, the building was evacuated and staff contacted Gardaí. Longford Gardaí attended the scene and directed the individuals to leave the area.
