County Longford has the highest 7-day incidence rate of Covid-19 in the country today.
According to updated figures from the Health Protection and Surveillance Centre, the county has over double the average rate of the virus.
Counties in the Shannonside Northern Sound region all feature in the top 15 incidence rates nationwide.
Today's figures from the HPSC come as the region is facing 125 Covid positive patients in local hospitals, 18 of whom are in critical care units.
Longford has reported 243 cases of Covid-19 in the last week, with a seven-day incidence rate of 594, two times the national average of 256.
That's followed by Westmeath who has a 7-day incidence rate of 321 and 285 new cases over the last week.
There were also 98 new cases of the virus in Leitrim last week and an incidence rate of 305.
Cavan and Monaghan reported rates of 286 and 273 respectively with 386 cases between the two border counties over the last 7 days.
The lowest level regionally was captured in Roscommon, where 168 recent cases were confirmed leading to a 7-day incidence rate of 260.
County Offaly reported the lowest levels nationally, with a rate of just 161 and 126 cases in the timeframe.
