The 2021 CAB Annual Report was launched by Justice Minister Helen McEntee today and showed 5.5 million euro handed back to the Exchequer in 2021.
The Criminal Assets Bureau investigated almost 18-hundred individuals or organisations in 2021, a record number in the history of the body.
The Dublin policing regions had the highest amount of active investigations last year, with Longford the third highest outside the capital behind Limerick and Westmeath.
The region saw 82 investigations in 2021, with several high profile seizures made over the year.
The Sligo Leitrim Garda Division recorded one of the lowest levels of CAB investigations into individuals or organisations in the same period.
While CAB officers in Westmeath and Meath tracked over 100 targets in the 12 months.
According to the 2021 annual report, seizures in the Shannonside region did not include property, with no local land currently in the control of the Criminal Assets Bureau.
