Longford has recorded some of the poorest air quality in the country in the last 24 hours according to a new report from the EPA.
The readings were taken from an Environmental Protection Agency monitoring station in Longford Town this week.
According to the report, air pollution levels from traffic fell by up to 50 per cent in some areas last year.
The decrease was largely due to fewer cars being on the road due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Despite this, Ireland was still above WHO guidelines for emissions from the burning of solid fuels.
Speaking to Let's Talk today, Dermot Burke from the Environmental Protection Agency says weather can have a huge effect on air quality day to day.
