A number of churches and parishes in Longford, Roscommon as well as Athlone have confirmed re-fixed dates for confirmations and communions.
The services were postponed during the Spring and early summer due to Covid-19.
Due to the lengthy lockdown, religious ceremonies such as Holy Communions and Confirmations were postponed earlier this year due to Covid-19.
Pupils in first and second class as well as those leaving national School have been waiting to see if the ceremonies could go ahead at all this year, with several parishes now confirming alternative arrangements.
In Roscommon, confirmation for pupils of Gaelscoil de hÍde & Kilteevan N.S will take place on Sat 29th August and on Sat 5th & Sun 6th September for pupils of St Comán's Wood Primary School.
First Holy Communion in the parish will take place on Sunday 8th November for pupils of St Comán's Wood and Sunday 15th November- Gaelscoil de hÍde.
In Longford, the parish of St Mel's in the town centre has revealed that because of the requirement of social distancing each school will have its own ceremony and the priest associated with the school will administer the sacrament:
Monday 17th August, 6pm: St Joseph's
Tuesday 18th August, 6pm: Stonepark
Wednesday 19th August, 6pm: Melview
Thursday 20th August, 6pm: Melview
Friday 21st August, 6pm: St Michael's
Monday 24th August, 6pm: Gaelscoil
Tuesday 25th August, 6pm: Scoil Eimear
Elsewhere, the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Athlone have also confirmed new dates for the ceremonies.
Confirmation dates have been set for Cornafulla pupils at 11am on Thursday, September 17th and Summerhill National School pupils at 3pm on September 17th.
Ardkeenan NS Pupils will be confirmed at 11am on Friday, September 18th and Cloonakilla pupils will be confirmed at 11am and 3pm on Saturday, September 19th.
