Longford and Leitrim have had the lowest number of SEAI property energy upgrades in the country over the last four years.
Figures presented in the Dáil show Longford and Leitrim trailing other counties in the region and across the country.
Nationally over the last four years, 116,000 properties have seen SEAI energy upgrade schemes take place on site improving insulation, heating systems and installing solar panels.
Longford has the lowest level of uptake in the country in that period with just 721 upgrades complete.
That's followed by Leitrim with over 1,000 properties in the same timeline.
Roscommon is double that figure at over 2,180 SEAI retrofits compete between 2021 and June 2024.
Of the full national figure of 116,000 buildings worked on, just over 40,500 have been upgraded to have an energy rating of B2 or better.
