A Longford senator is calling on the Department of Education to identify a permanent site for Gaelscoil Longfoirt.
Speaking in the Seanad, Fine Gael's Micheál Carrigy, said a new site for the school with more facilities would encourage families to send their children there.
The Gaelscoil currently occupies a two-storey prefab building beside Longford Slashers GAA Club.
This site was provided on a temporary basis when the school opened 15 years ago.
Senator Carrigy said the school is long overdue a relocation.
