Two Longford senators are calling for the government to urgently help forest owners - as they claim the sector is in 'crisis'.
Around 700 million euro worth of forestry was knocked down during Storm Eowyn, according to the Irish Forest Owners.
It's holding a public meeting in the Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon next Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock.
Fine Gael senator Pauric Brady says the government needs to help the industry.
Fianna Fáil senator Joe Flaherty also told the Seanad the government needs to step in.
