A shopping centre and a supermarket in Longford have been deemed safe following a security alert yesterday.
Shoppers and staff were evacuated after the alarm was raised shortly after 5pm.
Two calls were reported to Longford Gardaí yesterday afternoon regarding suspicious devices.
Longford Shopping Centre in the town centre and Dunnes Stores on the Dublin Road were both evacuated just after 5 o'clock and the scenes preserved by Gardaí.
The Defence Forces were called to assist.
A number of searches were carried out, but no devices were located.
As a result, Gardaí say they're now treating the calls as a hoax and are investigating all of the circumstances behind the incidents.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Longford Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
