Students from a north Longford school representing Ireland at the Junk Kouture world finals in the Middle East have scooped the 'World Designer of the Year' accolade.
'Back to the Future' by Joshua Osabuehien and Solomon Eduard of Cnoc Mhuire in Granard was one of nine creations representing Ireland at the first ever Junk Kouture World Final in Abu Dhabi.
The outfit is described as a futuristic coat of armour against climate change made from an old laundry basket, car wipers, and an old shower mat.
The event took place at the Etihad Arena and saw a total of 60 designs and their teams from secondary schools across - USA, UK, France, Italy, Ireland and UAE taking part.
The students will return to Ireland later this week following their win this evening.
