A local TD has suggested that a new educational campus should be developed as part of multi-million euro plans for the Camlin Quarter in Longford town.
Over ten million euro has been allocated for the significant regeneration plans aimed at developing more public spaces and improving the streetscape at the lower end of the main street in Longford town.
Joe Flaherty appealed to the Minister for Higher Education this week in the Dail that the major funding presents a unique opportunity to develop a modern third level campus at the ETB base on the Battery Road.
He claimed that there could be scope to increase the number of students attending classes at the site from its current 150 to almost 400.
He believes a special focus on the construction industry would be very beneficial for the region :
