Longford is the only town in the Shannonside region to be rated among the top ten cleanest in the country according to a new litter survey.
The first post-lockdown survey by Irish Business Against Litter finds 68 percent of towns registered improvements last year.
Longford is rated tenth out of forty areas surveyed nationwide, with Athlone in 15th place.

Roscommon was described as 'moderately littered' in 24th position.
