Longford town's LEA recorded the highest incidence rate in the Shannonside region for the final two weeks of March.
Over 2700 cases of the virus were recorded in electoral areas across the region between the 15th and 28th of March.
The latest data from the HPSC shows a significant spike in Covid cases in all areas across the country in the two weeks after St Patrick's day.
In the Shannonside region, 866 Covid cases were recorded in Longford' in the same two week period - including over 400 in the Longford town LEA - 237 in the Ballymahon M.D and 205 in the Granard Municipal District.
In Roscommon, almost 1300 cases of Covid were recorded in the fortnight between March 15th and the 28th.
545 cases were notified to health authorities in the Roscommon LEA, as well as 465 in the Boyle Municipal District and 271 in the Athlone M.D.
In County Leitrim, 644 cases were recorded between the 15th of March and the 28th of last month.
The Carrick on Shannon LEA represented almost half of the cases recorded, 297, with its incidence rate the highest in the county at 2614, well above the national average at 1871.
186 cases were recorded in Ballinamore's M.D in the same two week period.
