Longford was found to be the cheapest place to live, with good access to schools, supermarkets and leisure facilities.

Longford Town was also among the worst performing towns across the country in last year's EPA report for air quality.

A sum of cash was taken from the scene at approximately 7pm.

Parts of the station including toilets and indoor waiting areas were shut at times over last year due to staff shortages.

The prominent facility lies at the top of Longford Town, with the LWETB previously expanding their operations onto the site.

The incident is believed to have occurred at approximately 7:40 am on Sunday.

A man in his early 20s received serious injuries in the incident and was brought to the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment.

The special needs unit includes a central activity space, multi-sensory room, office, storage, and toilets.
