TG4 has announced the recipients of the 2021 Gradam Ceoil Awards with the ceremony airing on Halloween night

Longford musician Angelina Carberry who's been named as a Gradam Ceoil recipient is working on an album which aims to revive some old Longford tunes.

Angelina ,who was born in Manchester but who came back to live in Longford in the 1990's, is a member of a well known Longford musical family.

Her grandfather Kevin Carberry played banjo, and her father Peter plays the button accordion, while other family members play uileann pipes.

Angelina's instrument of choice is the banjo and she was also a member of the renowned all-female band, the Bumblebees.

She'll be given the title of 2021 Musician of the Year in the Gradam Ceoil Awards.

The awards pay homage to musicians who've advanced, strengthened and preserved traditional music in Ireland.

Speaking on Let's Talk today Angelina says lockdown was hard on her and others in the sector, but says that playing and researching music has kept her occupied during the past several months.
