The performance of the main government parties won't necessarily result in a pre-Christmas general election.
That's according to Longford-Westmeath TD and Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, Peter Burke.
Calls for an early general election have grown louder following the comparatively poor performance of Sinn Féin who claimed 12% of seats nationally.
