Longford woman Louise Lovett says she hopes to "rural proof" policies for women during her term as Chairperson of the National Women's Council.
Her election to the Chair of the council was announced this afternoon at the organisations AGM which took place online.
Louise Lovett is the CEO of Longford Women's Link which has been providing services to women and children in Longford and surrounding areas for the past 25 years.
She says she has vital experience in working with women who face issues specific to rural areas, and she hopes to make people aware of the changes that need to happen to address these extra barriers:
