A lack of action from Irish Rail saw issues in Bray spiral out of control according to a local woman caught in the delays over the weekend.
Passengers have been voicing their anger over packed trains and lack of ventilation , as crowds flocked to the Bray Air Show on Sunday.
Hundreds were forced to leave the trains and walk along the tracks to access nearby stations or public routes.
Irish Rail's apologised to anyone who was delayed, disrupted or distressed travelling to the show, with CEO Jim Meade writing an open letter and committing to reviewing the incident.
Longford woman Noeleen Kelly was on one of the Dart Services, she says Irish Rail could have avoided the disaster if they'd acted fast following the first delay.
''From Shankill train station, where we were stopped at the time we were stopped there was already an issue at Bray. There was a train in and there was two trains on the track waiting to arrive at the platform so when we were in Shankill, they already had an issue. This didn't just suddenly happen. My point was, why didn't they just tell the driver do not come down. Do not leave Shankill because there's an issues up ahead. At least we could have gotten off the train and Shankill, but we would have been safe.''
