A Longford filmmaker and journalist will receive the Freedom of the county this evening.
The honour will be bestowed upon Longford Town native Shaunagh Connaire for her work in the area of human rights and investigative journalism.
The award-winning writer is currently working as the Director of Communications at the Clooney Foundation for Justice, founded by Amal and George Clooney.
Shaunagh will receive the honour at a special conferring ceremony in Longford Rugby Club this evening.
Previous recipients include former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds and past president Mary McAlease.
