A Longford woman is leading the campaign to see Government funding withdrawn from the greyhound racing industry. Nuala Donlon of Greyhound Action Ireland says public support for the sport has dwindled in recent years. She also says attendances at greyhound tracks across Ireland have nosedived.
It comes as Greyhound Action Ireland welcomes moves in Wales to get rid of the sport in the near future. Welsh leaders are working to end the practice there following a Government consultation period and petition which has attracted over 35-thousand signatures.
